Going down

Post by jedishon on March 3rd 2010, 11:07 pm

Sorry D, not that....

Was on my way home, guy in front of me put his left turn signal
on and started to slow down. I moved over to the right figuring
I'd go around him when he started to turm. Glanced in my mirror
to see where the lady was behind me. Looked up to see the guy
turning right. Rookie mistake I locked up the front tire, hello
pavement. Looks like I'll loose my big toe, my hip is a little
sore and a little road rash on my forearm. I was wearing my chaps
and new helmet. Ruined my chaps, helmet, jacket and boots. I had
slowed down to the 40-45 range and slid about 30 feet.I have been
humbled again. Dont know what the insurance company will do.

First the engine guard.

the windshield

the brake resivoir and mirror minus the broken hand guard

my new exhaust

and my tank

Dang Jerry, hate to hear it. Lose your big toe? Let's hope not.
Lets us know what parts you need and which ones will fit.
I'm on craigslist all the time, might be able to help find some.
Get well brother.

I have to admit Jerry, I was all ready to jump all over the title.

This suxs big time Bro. I glad your not banged up more than you are. So do you really think you might lose your toe? Losing the big one could be a problem cause it helps balance a person quite a bit. Doesn't it? I pray you're able to keep it.

Looks like the crash bar took most of the impact. From the pics the rest of the bike don't look all that bad.

I had the same type accident in '91. Lady had her left signal on, went to go around her on the right then she turn in the parking spot on the right Mad

I'm just glad you're here telling us about it.

Jerry Sorry about the accident, but glad you're ok. If the steering head pins are sheered off, they'll total it and offer it back to you at alow price I had a 2004 Retro 1800. bougt new (leftover) for $8600. Rode it and dressed it for36,000 miles. After the wreck Geico gave me $9200. They offered to sell my old one back for $2700. I passed. Check the neck of your frame. If those two metal tabs are gone, it's considered totaled. At least mine was. This can come out pretty good. I'll be praying for your quick healing.
