One day I will make the trip. It is 1400 miles from me as well and looks like an awesome ride. I have a couple friends here that would probably be interested in going too. Right now I'm working two jobs and going to school, I barely have time to breathe.

Time wise from work no problem. I can almost imagine the trip though.

I went to Cheyenne, Wy./Estes Park & Rockies when I was 12 back in 1973. We strived for a trip back out west in 2003 as my son would had been the same as me plus 30 years but job situation could not make it.. Maybe be something to plan for in 2013. Coffee

Yeah it's definately the "ride" more than the destination. You have bragging rights over this and that stop/stay. That's when some of the tales get taller. One of our 5 on the trip decided to head west when we headed east. He was going to visit 'family'. At one fuel stop he ended up in a pack of Diablo's. Initiation for such group is to steal a HD. His was not yet a yr old and the guys were looking pretty close at it....................and the story gets better each time he tells it
