Sunday Mornin' Hope : You Blew It
How do you deal with failure or condemnation. What do you do when everything goes wrong? Do you expect everything TO go wrong? Some people live in a negative world. They expect it to all go wrong constantly. They post negative things all the time. It brings them satisfaction.
Mt 12:34 - O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
So don't be surprised when someone flames you online. If they disagree, they might resort to ridicule and judgement. Often this was in their heart before they ever read your post. It was in the abundance of their heart. SO give them some slack and pray for them. They can't help it if life dealt them a bad hand. And if you feel this way, it's what you do with the 'hand' that determines your future and destiny.
Lu 6:28 - bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
Ro 12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
Yesterday it rained almost all day. As I got on my bike at 5 p.m. It started to rain hard. I quickly put on my Frogg Toggs and mounted the "White Horse". At first my thoughts were bad. Then I began to thank Jesus for all I DO have. God has been so good to me and my family. Everyday alive is a true blessing from the Lord. I want to be a little more like Gene Kelly in the rain....

Even at the end of the song and the policeman came by, he kept on singing. Can you sing in the rain. Can you get past all your 'mistrakes' and move on? I sure hope so. When the children of Israel left Egypt and headed for the Red Sea, Pharaoh's chariots followed hard after them. With no hope insight, the people began to doubt and cry out to Moses "Have you brought us here to die?". That is a logical thing to say and think. But imagine if they had started dancing and thanking God instead. People usually celebrate a victory after it happens. If Israel had started thanking God instead of grumbling, God might have done even greater things than part the sea. When facing impossibilities, what do you do? Do you give up and curl into a corner and die like a man did in the Pompei eruption?
Or do you stop and put on your tennis shoes while being chased by a bear. Two men were being chased by an angry bear. One stopped and put on his tennis shoes. The other guy said "That's not going to stop the bear." The first guy agreed "But at least I can out run you." When someone or several tell you "You blew it." Evaluate the situation, and if you did, accept and apologise to them. If you tell yourself you blew it, do the same thing again and MOVE ON.
My hope today is that you determine to live a positive lifestyle. How can you tell if it is? Listen to what you say after a terrible or bad thing happens to you or someone close to you. If you just had a bike wreck, thank God you're 'still here'. If you lost your job, start your own business. You might have to deliver pizza for a few years while that bird learns to fly. I was asked by a radio reporter (while my store was on fire) "What was your first thought when you saw your store on fire?" I smiled to her and said "I forgot my marshmellows." She just walked away. The hand of God stayed the fire from getting to my stock. I believe angels kept the flames from hitting my guitars and amps. The firechief asked me "Do you want your stuff? It's all in good shape."
1Ch 16:34 - O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures for ever!

Thank you Dino! I really try to stay positive all the time, sometimes it's hard to do, but, for the most part, I succeed. I often wonder why some people feel they just have to flame any comment they do not agree with. Perhaps it is a cry for help? Food for thought....

Re: Sunday Mornin' Hope : You Blew It
Thanks. Those rocks are really on the bounce from hitting me first. I need to work on these things too. Kinda funny thing happened this week. I was watching one of my favorite shows (The Waltons) and John Boy was starting up a newspaper. Because of the times (1940's) he wrote about Hitler's burning of books and how we should be free to read whatever we want. Then he went so far as quoting from Mein Kamp or something like that. The town basically called him a nazi for that. He learned the hard way 'You gotta know your audience.' So in my writing I try to be encouraging yet stimulating and challenging. If I step on toes, it's usually mine first. Again thanks.

Good message. I work with someone who is consistently negative. It is extremely draining. Sometimes find myself hanging on for dear life at the edges of the hole he has dug for himself.
Dino, seems that most all the time I find truths in your sermons about myself, keep me on the straight n narrow...
