Sunday Mornin' Hope : Puzzles

Post by Psalmist on September 24th 2011, 10:18 pm

1Co 13:12 -
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

Often when I go to get a radiation treatment, several of us are waiting in the lobby. In the lobby is a good sized table with puzzle to help pass the time. Some of the puzzles are large and difficult. When you have 550 pieces and 50 of them are blue sky or green grass, that makes for a long time puzzle. Sometimes you will find a piece from another puzzle mixed in with the other pieces. Sometimes you puzzle will be complete but have a few pieces missing. That's where I think most of us are in life and with God.

As that scriptures says, we see in a mirror dimly. Sometimes I can't even find the mirror. At 52 I find most printed material has too small a font. Someone must be trying to save the trees and printing things way too small. It couldn't be me, just because I don't wear my contacts very often. That verse goes on to say "then face to face". WOW! What will be the first thing you say when you meet Jesus face to face? I know exactly what I'm going to say first. "............ah......" as my eyes gush with tears. I just know I'm gonna fall totally apart. I'm having trouble right now typing just thinking about it. The screen blurred on me again. O I want to see him. Cares all past. Home at last.

What does God think about all of our doctrines and interpretations of His word? I think He might be saying "You know, they are pretty close. But they're just missing a few peices to the puzzle. Who told them to worry so much? Why are they so scared about tomorrow? I've got the whole world in my hands. Do they think they're the only planet with life on it? If they only knew." That's just my opinion, and yes you are welcome to it Wink The verse goes on to say "now I know in part". BOY is that ever an understatement. I wish I knew 'part'. After four years in Bible college, the most incredible thing I learned can be found in a song "Jesus loves me this I know. For the Bible tells me so..." Compared to what I have yet to learn, I feel like I understand silt or the shavings of it.

The last part of that verse says "but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. " Talk about 'earschplittenloudenboomer'!

I'm actually gonna know!! You too. AWESOME EH???? Jesus already knows you and still likes you. More than that He loves us. oooo brain freeze. System overload. Even though my mirror is 'dim', when I look into it, I see dirt. I think 'How can a God this big actually love me enough not to destroy me? I deserve to fry like Sodom/Gomorrah. Yet God upped the anti and sent the only Son he had/has. How could He do that, knowing what what was going to happen? If it were me and I had to send one of my four sons for a ransom. I'd say go ahead and fry the world. I couldn't give up one of my four. That's why He's God and we're not.

So if you're getting frustrated in working out the puzzle of your life, Turn to Jesus. He's not going to solve your puzzle, but He will move a few pieces in the right direction. Relax and listen to the music of the Holy Spirit. I'm praying for you.
